SB 113, a Missouri Senate bill that effectively guts Prop B (the Puppy Mill Cruelty Prevention Act), passed the state Senate yesterday. Missourians get active!
The passage of Proposition B is a landmark event in Missouri on many levels. Missouri is home to 30% of the puppy mills in the USA. It passed thanks to the work of volunteers and the Yes! to Prop B coalition that rallied the public to take a stand against substandard commercial breeding facilities.
This Tuesday, Missouri voters will go to the polls to decide whether or not to put a major crimp in the puppy mill business. Prop B will raise the bar on commercial breeders in the state that is home to an estimated 30% of the nation’s puppy mills.
